Non-uniform corrosion
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008057
Corrosion that proceeds at varying rates across the surface of a material, leading to localized attack rather than an even degradation. This type of corrosion can manifest as pitting, crevice corrosion, or intergranular corrosion, often resulting in unpredictable material failure. It is contrasted with uniform corrosion, where the attack is evenly distributed over the entire exposed surface.
