Isotopic enrichment
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006242
The process of increasing the relative abundance of a specific isotope of an element in a sample beyond its natural isotopic abundance. This can be achieved through physical or chemical separation methods, such as gaseous diffusion or centrifugation. Enriched isotopes are used in nuclear reactors, medical diagnostics, and as tracers in scientific research.
