Isotopic discrimination
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006241
The preferential incorporation or exclusion of certain isotopes of an element during physical, chemical, or biological processes. This phenomenon leads to variations in the isotopic ratios of elements in different substances. It is often quantified by fractionation factors and is used in environmental and biological studies.
