Isotopic ion
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006245
An ion that differs from another ion only by the isotopic composition of one or more of its constituent atoms. These ions have the same chemical formula but different atomic masses due to the presence of heavier or lighter isotopes. Isotopic ions are commonly observed in mass spectrometry and are used for isotopic labeling studies.
