Isotopolog ions
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006257
Ions that are identical in their chemical structure and elemental composition but differ in the isotopic composition of one or more of their constituent atoms. These ions arise from the natural abundance of isotopes or from deliberate isotopic labeling. In mass spectrometry, isotopolog ions appear as a cluster of peaks with distinct mass-to-charge ratios.
