Isotopomer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006259
Molecules with identical isotopic content, the same count of each isotope, that differ only in where the isotopic atoms sit; the name contracts isotopic isomer. CH2DCHO and CH3CDO are constitutional isotopomers, and (R)- and (S)-CH3CHDOH are isotopic stereoisomers. Species that differ in the number of isotopic atoms, such as CH3CH2OH and CH3CD2OH, are isotopologues instead.
