Relative isotopic sensitivity factor

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010147

A scaling factor used in dynamic secondary-ion mass spectrometry to convert the measured ion intensity of a specific isotope into its atomic concentration within a material. It is determined by analyzing a standard material with a known concentration of that isotope under identical experimental conditions. These factors are specific to the instrument, the matrix material, and the primary ion beam being used for analysis.
