Relative mass accuracy
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010148
A measure of the accuracy of a mass measurement, expressed as the mass accuracy divided by the reference mass and reported in parts per million (ppm). It indicates how close a measured mass-to-charge ratio is to its theoretical value. Errors within about 5 ppm are commonly taken as supporting a proposed elemental composition for small molecules.
