Mass accuracy
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006968
The deviation between the experimentally measured mass-to-charge ratio (m/z) of an ion and its theoretically calculated exact m/z value. This parameter serves as a key performance indicator for a mass spectrometer, reflecting its ability to determine the mass of an ion precisely. Mass accuracy is expressed either in absolute units, such as millimass units (mmu), or more frequently as a relative deviation in parts per million (ppm).
