Examination accuracy

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004145

How near an examined value of a nominal property lies to the true value of that property for the examinand. Because nominal properties are categories rather than magnitudes, it is expressed as the proportion of examinations giving the correct category, not as a bias or a standard deviation. Diagnostic sensitivity and specificity against a reference procedure are common measures of it.
