Intrinsic examination standard
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006030
An examination standard whose reference value comes from a reproducible inherent characteristic of a phenomenon or a substance, so that it can be realized directly rather than calibrated against another standard. The property involved is a nominal one, meaning a category or identity rather than a numerical quantity. In ordinary measurement the same idea gives the triple-point cell of water and the Josephson junction voltage standard.
