Absolute elemental sensitivity factor

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000053

A coefficient for an element by which its measured signal intensity is divided to give its atomic concentration or atomic fraction in the sample, applied in quantitative surface analysis such as photoelectron, Auger and secondary ion mass spectrometry. Its value varies with the excitation conditions, the instrument and the sample matrix, and the matrix influence dominates in secondary ion mass spectrometry.
