Secondary neutral mass spectrometry

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010620

A mass spectrometry technique that analyzes neutral species sputtered or desorbed from a surface, which are subsequently ionized for mass analysis. This method provides information about the elemental and molecular composition of the surface and near-surface regions. It is often used for quantitative analysis due to reduced matrix effects compared to secondary ion mass spectrometry.
