Secondary nucleation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010621
The formation of new crystal nuclei on the surface of existing crystals during the crystallization of a polymer. This process differs from primary nucleation, which occurs in the bulk melt or solution. Secondary nucleation contributes to the growth of larger crystalline structures and the overall crystallinity of the material.
