Isomer

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006198

A molecular entity that has the same molecular formula as another molecular entity but a different arrangement of atoms in space. Isomers can differ in their connectivity (constitutional isomers) or in the spatial arrangement of their atoms (stereoisomers). These differences lead to distinct physical and chemical properties.
