Molecular formula
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007492
A chemical formula that indicates the exact number of atoms of each element present in a single molecule of a compound. It provides the actual composition of a molecule, unlike an empirical formula which shows the simplest whole-number ratio of atoms. For example, the molecular formula of glucose is C6H12O6.
