Space formula

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011070

A three-dimensional representation of a molecule that aims to depict the spatial arrangement of its constituent atoms and the bonds between them. Unlike a two-dimensional structural formula, a space formula provides information about the molecule's stereochemistry, including bond lengths, bond angles, and torsional angles. Models such as ball-and-stick or space-filling representations are common types of space formulas used to visualize molecular shape and volume.
