Space time
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011071
A measure of the average residence time of fluid in a continuous flow reactor, defined as the ratio of the reactor volume to the volumetric flow rate of the feed. It represents the time required to process one reactor volume of feed at inlet conditions. Space time is typically expressed in units of time, such as seconds or hours.
