Configuration

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002403

The spatial arrangement of atoms in a molecule that can only be changed by breaking and reforming chemical bonds. It describes the fixed geometry of a molecule, such as the arrangement of substituents around a chiral center or a double bond. Stereoisomers differ in their configuration.
