Stereochemical formula
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011367
A two-dimensional representation of a three-dimensional molecule that depicts the spatial arrangement of its atoms and bonds. These formulas use specific conventions to convey stereochemistry, such as solid wedges for bonds projecting out of the plane and dashed lines for bonds projecting into the plane. Common types include Fischer projections, Newman projections, and sawhorse representations, each suited for visualizing different aspects of molecular structure and conformation.
