Perspective formula
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008689
A two-dimensional representation of a three-dimensional molecule that uses wedges and dashed lines to indicate the spatial arrangement of atoms and bonds. Solid wedges denote bonds projecting out of the plane of the paper towards the viewer, while dashed wedges or lines represent bonds extending behind the plane. This formula provides a clear visual depiction of molecular geometry and stereochemistry.
