Condensed formula
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002384
A chemical formula that represents the structure of a molecule in a linear fashion, showing all atoms but omitting explicit depiction of bonds between carbon and hydrogen, and sometimes between carbon and other atoms. This notation simplifies the representation of organic molecules while still conveying connectivity. For example, ethane is written as CH3CH3.
