Perstraction

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008690

A membrane-based separation process that combines permeation through a membrane with extraction into a liquid phase on the downstream side. The feed mixture contacts one side of the membrane, and a solvent on the other side extracts the permeating components. This technique is often employed for separating organic compounds from aqueous solutions.
