Space charge region
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011069
A region within a semiconductor or electrolyte where there is a net electrical charge due to an imbalance of mobile charge carriers. This imbalance creates an electric field that influences the movement of other charged species. It is often formed at interfaces between different materials or at electrode surfaces.
