Electric drift
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003633
The net movement of charge carriers within a material under the influence of an electric field. This directed motion contributes to the electric current flowing through the material. The drift velocity of charge carriers is directly proportional to the electric field strength and the carrier mobility.
