Stereoisomerism
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011377
A form of isomerism where molecules possess the same molecular formula and the same sequence of covalently bonded atoms, but differ in the three-dimensional arrangement of their atoms in space. These spatial arrangements cannot be interconverted without breaking and reforming chemical bonds. Examples include enantiomers and diastereomers.
