Diazoates
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003146
Anions with the general formula RN=NO⁻, which are the conjugate bases of diazohydroxides (RN=NOH). They exist as two geometric isomers, the (Z)-isomer (syn, formerly cis) and the (E)-isomer (anti, formerly trans). The (Z)-isomers are typically less stable and readily cyclize or couple with arenediazonium ions, while the (E)-isomers are more stable.
