Isotope dilution
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006230
An analytical technique where a known amount of a substance, enriched with a specific isotope, is added to a sample containing the same substance in its natural isotopic composition. The mixture is then thoroughly homogenized, and the isotopic ratio of the substance is measured. This method is used to determine the original concentration of the substance in the sample.
