Isotope coded affinity tag
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006229
A chemical reagent used in quantitative proteomics to label cysteine-containing peptides from different biological samples with either a 'light' or 'heavy' isotopic tag. After labeling, the samples are combined, digested, and analyzed by mass spectrometry. The ratio of the light and heavy forms of a peptide provides its relative abundance between the samples.
