Peptide sequence tag
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008610
A short, experimentally determined amino acid sequence derived from the fragmentation spectrum of a peptide, combined with the mass of the precursor ion and the mass of a terminal fragment. This tag provides a unique identifier that can be used to search protein databases for homologous sequences. It is a powerful tool for protein identification and characterization.
