Coded experimental design
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002165
A method for representing the levels of experimental factors using dimensionless, normalized values rather than their original physical units. This transformation simplifies calculations and allows for the direct comparison of the effects of different factors, regardless of their initial scales or units. In a two-level factorial design, the low level of a factor is typically coded as -1 and the high level as +1, with the center point designated as 0.
