Stable isotope standards and capture by anti-peptide antibodies

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011269

A quantitative proteomics method that uses synthetic peptides labeled with stable isotopes as internal standards, which are then spiked into a biological sample. These labeled peptides, along with their endogenous counterparts, are subsequently captured by specific anti-peptide antibodies. The ratio of labeled to unlabeled peptides is then determined by mass spectrometry to quantify protein abundance.
