Quantitation by concatenated tryptic peptides
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013458
A method for absolute protein quantitation in mass spectrometry that involves creating a synthetic protein standard by concatenating multiple tryptic peptides. This standard, often isotopically labeled, is added to a sample before digestion and analysis. The ratio of the labeled standard peptides to their endogenous counterparts provides a direct measure of the protein's concentration.
