Peptidomics

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008615

The systematic study of the entire set of peptides present in a biological sample, known as the peptidome. This field involves the identification, quantification, and characterization of peptides, including those derived from protein cleavage or endogenous peptide hormones. Mass spectrometry is the primary analytical technique employed in peptidomics research.
