Dynorphin
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003516
A class of endogenous opioid peptides that function as neurotransmitters in the brain. These peptides are derived from a precursor protein called prodynorphin and bind primarily to the kappa opioid receptor, modulating pain, mood, and addiction. Dynorphin A is a well-studied example, containing the Leu-enkephalin sequence at its N-terminus.
