Presynaptic

Relating to the neuron that transmits a signal across a synapse to another neuron or an effector cell. This region contains neurotransmitters packaged in vesicles, which are released into the synaptic cleft upon stimulation. The presynaptic terminal is responsible for initiating the communication between cells.
