pre-T cell
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009416
An immature T lymphocyte that has successfully rearranged its T cell receptor beta chain gene and expresses a pre-T cell receptor on its surface. These cells reside in the thymus and undergo further development, including the rearrangement of the alpha chain gene. They are characterized by the co-expression of CD4 and CD8 coreceptors.
