Pre-polymer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009397
A polymer of low molecular weight, or an oligomer, that is capable of further polymerization to form a higher molecular weight polymer. These materials often contain reactive functional groups that can participate in subsequent polymerization reactions. Pre-polymers are frequently used as intermediates in the synthesis of thermosetting resins or polyurethanes.
