pre-B cell
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009343
An immature B lymphocyte that has rearranged its immunoglobulin heavy chain genes but has not yet expressed a complete B cell receptor on its surface. These cells are found primarily in the bone marrow and represent an intermediate stage in B cell development. They are characterized by the presence of a pre-B cell receptor, which includes a surrogate light chain.
