Pre-gel state

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009384

The condition of a polymerizing system before it reaches the gel point, where an infinite network structure begins to form. In this state, the reacting mixture consists of soluble, often branched, macromolecules that have not yet linked together to form a macroscopic gel. The material remains a liquid or highly viscous fluid.
