Crosslinking
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002721
The process of forming covalent bonds or other strong interactions between polymer chains, leading to the creation of a three-dimensional network structure. This transformation converts individual polymer molecules into a single, interconnected macromolecule, significantly altering its physical and mechanical properties. Common methods include vulcanization and radical polymerization.
