Polyelectrolyte network

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009135

A three-dimensional, crosslinked structure formed by polyelectrolyte chains, where the chains are interconnected by covalent bonds or strong physical interactions. This network contains ionizable groups that can dissociate, leading to charged sites and associated counter-ions. Such networks are the basis for ion-exchange resins and hydrogels.
