Interpenetrating polymer network

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005981

A blend of two or more polymers, at least one of which is synthesized or crosslinked in the presence of the others, without any covalent bonds between the different polymer networks. The networks are entangled on a molecular scale, forming a permanent intimate mixture. This architecture often results in synergistic properties not achievable by individual components.
