Sequential interpenetrating polymer network

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010765

A polymer blend composed of two or more networks, at least one of which is synthesized and/or crosslinked in the presence of the other(s). The networks are formed sequentially, meaning one network is fully or partially formed before the components of the second network are introduced and polymerized. This process results in a material where the networks are intertwined on a molecular scale but not covalently bonded to each other.
