Model network
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007446
A polymer network with a well-defined and controlled structure, often synthesized to have specific characteristics such as uniform chain length between crosslinks or a known functionality of crosslinking points. These networks are used to study the fundamental relationships between network structure and macroscopic properties, such as elasticity and swelling behavior. They provide a simplified system for theoretical modeling and experimental validation.
