Model error

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007445

The discrepancy between the predictions of a mathematical or statistical model and the true underlying process it attempts to represent. This error arises from simplifications, assumptions, or incomplete understanding of the system being modeled. Reducing model error is a primary goal in scientific research and engineering, often achieved through refinement of the model's structure or parameters.
