Mean squared error of prediction

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007080

A statistical metric that quantifies the average squared difference between predicted values from a model and the true values for a set of independent test data. It assesses the model's ability to predict new, unseen data, providing an indication of its generalization performance. This error is a key indicator of a model's predictive accuracy in chemometrics.
