Simultaneous interpenetrating polymer network
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010880
A polymer blend composed of two or more polymer networks that are synthesized and/or crosslinked concurrently, but independently, from their respective monomer and crosslinker mixtures. The components of both networks are mixed before polymerization, and their formation proceeds simultaneously. This results in a highly interpenetrated structure where the networks are intimately mixed on a molecular scale without covalent bonds between them.
