Polymer blend

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009158

A macroscopic mixture of two or more polymers, or copolymers, that are physically combined without forming new covalent bonds between the different polymer chains. The components in a polymer blend are often immiscible, leading to multiphase systems. Blends are created to achieve a desired balance of properties from the individual polymers.
