Polymer compatibilizer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009162
A substance added to a blend of immiscible polymers to improve their interfacial adhesion and macroscopic properties. It typically consists of a block or graft copolymer that can interact favorably with both polymer phases. The compatibilizer reduces the interfacial tension between the phases, leading to a finer and more stable morphology.
